APC Europe has been selected to receive public funding under the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation of the Agri-food Sector (PERTE Agro), a government initiative within the framework of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and managed by the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism.

The awarded funding supports the project “Research into new bioactive peptides obtained from blood by-products from the meat industry”, part of the PP01 project under the umbrella initiative CARNITY – Innovation for the ecological and digital transition of the Spanish meat industry and its associated value chain.

The aim of the project is to identify bioactive peptides or plasma or haemoglobin fractions with biological functionality and/or antimicrobial properties. It is being carried out at APC’s facilities in Catalonia between April 2023 and June 2025, with a total budget of 1,929,926 €.

This milestone reinforces APC’s commitment to sustainable innovation, turning animal co-products into valuable functional ingredients for animal nutrition.
