FEED ADDITIVES AS ANTIBIOTIC SOLUTIONS FOR SWINE AND POULTRY DISEASE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT WORKSHOPS, VIETNAM

Registration for swine workshops

American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Vietnamese Feed Association (VFA) announced their workshop series in Vietnam titled “Feed Additives as Antibiotic Solutions for Swine and Poultry Disease Prevention and Treatment” workshops. These seminars will be conducted in 2 locations namely in Hanoi on Monday 2nd October 2023 and in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday 5th October 2023.

Dr. Yanbin Shen, Global Director of Technical Services and NA R&D from APC will present at these seminars focusing on “Spray Dried Plasma Protein as a Health Tool for Swine and Poultry Production”. Participation is free and interested individuals can register using the QR code or registration link: https://bit.ly/48wO4gT

Dr. Yanbin will elaborate on the possible approaches which can be adopted in the light of curtailed antibiotic use in swine and poultry production. Alternative strategies are being investigated to safeguard animal health and productivity. One particularly promising approach is the utilization of spray dried plasma protein (SDP) as a substitute for antibiotics. Spray dried plasma protein, including immunoglobulins, growth factors, and enzymes which has very similar profiles as colostrum, have demonstrated roles in fortifying the integrity of the intestinal lining, regulating immune responses, and fostering the proliferation of beneficial gut bacteria. These proteins can help avert the leakage of harmful substances from the gut into the bloodstream, thereby supporting a harmonious gut microbiome. Additionally, research has indicated that SDP can enhance respiratory well-being in pigs by bolstering immune reactions. Field research involving swine and poultry have shown that groups receiving SDP exhibit comparable growth performance improvements to those receiving antibiotics.
